Bi-Annual Training Information

Completing your bi-annual trainings are an extremely important part of keeping your network secure, and meeting all major compliance standards.  The information below will help explain the reasons we offer this service, the benefits and what to expect.  You can also download a printable PDF document here.

Initial Onboarding and Quarterly Trainings

The initial onboarding training and the quarterly trainings provided by iSAFE are an essential part of developing and maintaining a secure and productive technology system.  It is extremely important that all staff that utilize covered technology as a part of their work responsibilities attend these meetings.  We realize however that this is sometimes impossible due to scheduling, vacations, or other conflicts.  We can provide handouts for those that cannot attend.  The meetings can be scheduled independently, or we can integrate them into your already scheduled staff meetings if appropriate.

How long will it take?

Generally these meeting take less than an hour, but the time required depends greatly on the savviness of the staff, and the number of staff attending. Our presentation can be completed in as little as 30 minutes, but we always leave room for question and answer time and will do our best to address any concern or special needs of each customer. The average meeting time is around 45 minutes.

What to expect?

The initial onboarding meeting will include some introductions and a basic explanation of the service that we will be providing. That is followed by about a 25 minute slide presentation. That will cover the specific security requirements in the Acceptable Use Policy, and some training on current threats, how to avoid phishing schemes, and the procedure to follow in the event of a potential breach. Trouble ticket creation and communication procedures will also be covered. That is followed by a question and answer time and then dismissal.

What is the benefit?

Computer users are the single greatest vulnerability in any organization’s IT security system.  It is important that users are effectively, and regularly trained on how to avoid potential risks.  This will greatly reduce the likelihood of a potential breach, and very costly downtime.  It also gives each employee the necessary information to acquire fast and effective IT support.  Finally, many of the changes that are necessary to keep your network secure may be uncomfortable to some staff members.  These changes are often better received with a full explanation from an IT professional.

Additional Notes

If no presentation or TV is available for the slide show, let us know and we will bring our own projector or arrange handouts for each attendee.  Each user will receive a “Cheat Sheet” handout that will cover some basic security points, their specific trouble ticket communication procedure, and the expected response times.
